Guillermo Galindo Performance: Sonic Borders III

Join us in welcoming Mexican artist, performer, composer, and poet Guillermo Galindo to Florida for his performance "Sonic Borders III." Two of his works "Ropófono" and "Zapatófono" will be among other new acquisitions and collection favorites featured in the upcoming exhibition "The Place as Metaphor: Collection Conversations" which opens to the public January 17, 2019. Galindo’s graphic scores and three dimensional sculptural cybertotemic sonic objects have been shown at major museums and art biennials in America, Europe, Asia and around the world including Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery (2018), documenta14 (2017), Pacific Standard Time (2017) and CTM Festival (2017). HIs work has been featured on: BBC Outlook (London), Vice Magazine, (London), RTS Switzerland, National Public Radio (U.S.), CBC (Canada), California Sunday Magazine (U.S), Reforma Newspaper (Mexico), CNN and the New York Times. The Cornell Fine Arts Museum, located on the Rollins College campus, has free admission and is open year-round with works also on view nearby at The Alfond Inn. No reservations or tickets are required for this event. Free parking available on campus and in the SunTrust Garage on Lyman Avenue with a Museum-validated parking stub. The museum is closed on Mondays, during major holidays and for installation of new exhibitions. The Museum is currently closed December 13, 2018 through January 16, 2019 for installation of upcoming exhibitions.
