Join the Leadership Winter Park alumni community, Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for our second fall LWP Refresh! event. This series aims to expand and refine professional development skills, while renewing connections among LWP alumni.
This LWP Refresh event will feature Betsy Gardner Eckbert, president and CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. She will discuss how to move beyond the "grip and grin" basics of networking to start connecting in ways that significantly propel your professional and personal life.
Betsy Gardner Eckbert is a dynamic and visionary CEO with an exceptional track record spanning startup ventures, growth-stage enterprises, and turnaround scenarios. Her leadership journey has been defined by a relentless pursuit of revenue growth and organizational transformation across global markets. From the bustling streets of London to the vibrant communities of Florida, Betsy's impact has resonated far and wide.
Betsy's distinguished career includes pivotal roles in London-based startups, where she collaborated with visionary figures like Lord Mervyn Davies and Secretary of State Vince Cable to drive change and acquire gender board diversity targets. Her achievements extend to her tenure at a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company, where she consistently delivered impressive revenue results and led a senior HIV market with unmatched sales prowess.
As President and CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, she has steered the organization toward unprecedented heights. Under her guidance focusing on innovation, the Chamber achieved the prestigious Chamber Innovation Grand Prize award for North America within the first two years of her tenure and a Top 3 National Chamber of the Year in 2023 during the Chamber’s Centennial year.
Betsy's strategic vision and dedication resulted in a remarkable top-line growth of 26%, alongside substantial increases in reserves and foundation reserves. Her vision gave rise to an international tourism marketing strategy that achieved a remarkable 3% click-through rate. With a profound commitment to advancing her community, Betsy authored a transformative Relaunch: Career Reentry for Professional Women curriculum, bolstering the talent pool in Central Florida and beyond. She also led the Chamber to develop and implement the Winter Park Prosperity Scorecard, an ESG-embedded scorecard with a commitment to values beyond the financial bottom line.
Betsy graduated from the University of Florida, where she was named the 1991 Outstanding Female Leader and has been inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
