Orlando Philharmonic Focus Series: Mahler's Song of the Earth

The concert will feature Music Director, Eric Jacobsen, and vocalists Rachel Calloway and Alex Richardson as they present one of Gustav Mahler’s final works, Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth).
 
Describing the artistic thread weaving through the Philharmonic’s program, Jacobsen says “The Song of the Earth is a song cycle set with text from [ancient Chinese poetry], and that’s why we’ve combined Mahler with Chinese-born composer, Chen Yi, as a way to bring two different worlds together.”
