Featured Speaker: Sonni Abatta

Sonni Abatta is an Orlando resident, a writer and a blogger. She’s a work-from-home mom and wife whose writing has been featured on PopSugar Moms, TODAY Parents, Parent.co, Her View from Home and more. After 15 years of working in television—most recently as the main evening anchor at FOX 35—Sonni left her TV career to spend more time at home, and that’s when she reconnected with her love of writing.
She now spends her days creating and managing all the content on her mom and lifestyle blog, SonniAbatta.com. In a short period of time since retiring, Sonni has successfully transitioned her television audience to her new platform, while establishing herself as a leader of discussions on a variety of issues relating to women and mothers, all while juggling three kids, ages 5, 3 and 10 months.
Sonni is passionate about carrying over her interviewing and storytelling skills from her career in television to this new digital platform, where she creates content that has value to women of all ages. From an interview with a world-renowned expert on infant sleeping, to a live talk on Facebook with a security expert on how to keep your kids safe at school, to a post on the benefits of oil pulling or magnesium supplementation and more, Sonni’s content hits on points of interest to women at all stages of life. She’s a firm believer and proof that “second chapters” can be just as fulfilling as first careers.
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Sonni and her family spend time in her hometown each summer and she remains a devoted fan of her beloved Steel Town sports teams.
